Council Meetings

In order to focus on specific areas of business, the Town Council has three committees; Executive, Facilities and Infrastructure, and three sub-committees; Planning, Carnival and the Christmas Lights Switch-On.

The Town Council, and its committees, meet periodically according to a calendar that is agreed at the start of the council's year - usually in May.

Meetings are held in the Council Chamber at The Corn Hall.

When are meeting agendas/minutes published?

Agendas are published on our website three clear working days prior to the meeting. A copy is also displayed on the noticeboard outside the Town Council Offices.
Minutes of Council meetings are available as soon as possible after the meeting but usually between one and two weeks. They are published in draft form and approved at the next meeting.

PUBLIC ATTENDANCE AT MEETINGS
Decisions that councillors make often affect the lives of those working and living in the town. So, as a council, we have to make sure all decision making is transparent and accountable.

All council meetings are open to the public, with an opportunity for you to discuss items on the agenda.
